LOGO DESIGN
Logo design is a great challenge. An art director’s objective is to create a memorable symbol that appropriately represents the nature and strength of the product or business it is to be associated with. Research of the project and communication with the client is important.
Logo design involves the creation of a mark and logo type. (The ‘swoosh’ is the mark and ‘Nike’ is the logo type). Also, for a logo to be functional it must be recognizable at a very small size and should be equally appealing in black and white as in color. Graphic elements, illustrations, and typography must be handled with delicacy, precision, and poise. The symbol’s lasting impression is most important. The eye and mind recognize much more than we can acknowledge. Perception is immediate and unblind, even without conscious inspection. It takes a great deal of time to nail down a logo. Each and every business should have a strong identity whose logo serves as the root symbol by reflecting it’s personality, attitude, strengths, and services. Therefore, it is important to realize and understand a logo is much more than a random font and clip art.
